Setting up Java

Kaariboga needs a Java Developement Kit version 1.2 or higher. It has been tested on several versions of SuSE and Red Hat Linux as well as on MS Windows. The Java Developement Kit is available at

• http://www.blackdown.org (Linux only)

Please follow the given installation instructions. On both operating systems, it is a good idea to include the Java bin directory into the search path for programs if this is not done automatically. On Linux this is done by editing .profile and adding a line like export PATH=/opt/jdk1.2/bin:$PATH On Windows NT an 2000 the path is set by changing the properties of your workplace. On other Windows systems edit the file autoexec.bat and add a line like set PATH=%PATH%;c:$\backslash$jdk1.2$\backslash$bin
