Just put the file WinTeXShell32.zip into a directory and unzip it. Then doubleclick on texshell.exe. The texshell starts with predefined values for the TeX distribution MiKTeX. So if you use this distribution you can start immediately.
Unicode users shoult read these remarks first.
If you want to use a spell checker try Aspell or Ispell. Aspell is more modern and easy to install but I have not testet it very thoroughly. The calling conventions are the same as for Ispell. Just replace ispell by aspell.
